Albany State tennis player Asia Raulerson was tabbed to play in the Pacific Mini Games. Raulerson, a sophomore who hails from Clermont, Florida, will represent the Northern Mariana Islands, which is an archipelago of 14 islands, is a U.S. Commonwealth located in the Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Mini Games, as it has been known since 2009, is a multi-sport competition amongst nations and territories located in Oceania. The participating countries and territories are American Samoa, Australia, Cook Islands, , Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Island.Northern Mariana Island (host) Palau ,Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Walls and Fotuna.
The competed-in sports consists of athletics ( track and field), badminton, baseball, beach volleyball, golf, tennis, triathlon, ca’a ( outrigger canoeing) and weightlifting.
The event begins with the Opening Ceremony on June 17 and concludes with a Closing Ceremony June 25.
